Athirappilly is a scenic combination of flora and fauna and numerous little streams. It’s often regarded as “Niagra of India”. This “Paradise” in the Sholayar forest region is beautifully intertwined with lush green forest cover and sizzling silver cascade. The serene waterfall is the edge of the Sholayar forests which reflects the glorious beauty of rainforest. The International Bird Association has declared it an “Important Bird Area”, the Asian Nature Conservation Foundation has recommended that the area should be declared a sanctuary or a national park and the Wildlife Trust of India regards it as one of India’s best elephant conservation areas.
